Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald honored Attorney Robert Chong on December 14, 2016 with a Proclamation in appreciation for his 23 years serving as Chair of the Hawaiʻi Board of Bar Examiners. 

Mr. Chong recently stepped down as Chair of the Board after he was appointed Chair of the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

  “Mr. Chong has been a leader of great integrity and keen judgment, approaching issues in a very collaborative and level-headed manner.  He is a true visionary who has dedicated his professional career to improving attorney professionalism.  The Judiciary and the legal community have benefitted greatly from his tireless dedication and commitment,” said Chief Justice Recktenwald. 

Gregory Markham has replaced Chong as the Board’s Chair.  “I greatly appreciate Mr. Markham’s willingness to take on this challenging role, and look forward to working with him,” Chief Justice Recktenwald said.
