The Lawyer Referral and Information Service is sponsored by the Hawai’i State Bar Association, and is a free service that provides names and contact information of attorneys who handle immigration-related cases. While the referral service is free, you will need to make your own fee arrangement with the lawyer.

If You Cannot Afford an Attorney

The Legal Clinic (TLC) provides free immigration legal services to Hawaiʻi residents whose total annual household income is no more than 200% of the current federal poverty level. TLC offers assistance with various immigration matters, including citizenship applications, asylum petitions, family reunification, removal defense (against deportation), DACA renewals, and COFA citizen documentation. TLC’s mission is to ensure justice for low-income immigrants and migrants in Hawai’i through high-quality immigration legal services, education, and advocacy.

- If you live on Oʻahu, the Hawaii Immigrant Justice Center (HIJC), at the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, may be able to help you. HIJC provides legal assistance to persons with immigration-related problems. They help abused immigrant spouses and children, immigrants in removal proceedings, asylum seekers and naturalization applicants.
