Judge Shirley M. Kawamura was sworn in as a Judge of the First Circuit Court on December 17, 2015. She initially was appointed to the District Court of the First Circuit on May 29, 2012.  Prior to becoming a district court judge, she served as a per diem judge in both the District and Family Courts on Oahu, an associate at Kawashima Lorusso LLP, and a trial deputy at the Office of the Public Defender. Judge Kawamura received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brown University and a law degree from Stanford University.
