Judge Catherine Haunani Remigio

Judge Catherine Haunani Remigio was appointed to the Circuit Court of the First Circuit on April 7, 2017.  In Circuit Court, Judge Remigio has served as Deputy Chief Judge, Family Division and Trial Judge, Criminal Division – her current position – presiding over adult criminal felony matters. 

Prior to her Circuit Court appointment, Judge Remigio served as a Family Court Judge for nearly six (6) years, presiding over cases involving divorce, neglect, and juvenile delinquency.    

Prior to her appointment to the Family Court bench, Judge Remigio served as a Per Diem District Court Judge, presiding over both civil and criminal district court matters.   

Judge Remigio was also a partner at Bryant & Remigio, an O`ahu Deputy Public Defender, an associate at Stirling & Kleintop, and an associate at Endeman, Lincoln, Turek, and Heater.  She has also served as Grand Jury Counsel and as a CAAP Arbitrator. 

Judge Remigio received her law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.  She is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama Campus and was raised in Waipahu, Hawai`i. 

She also served as a law clerk for Judges Thomas K. Kaulukukui, Jr. and Eden Elizabeth Hifo.
