Judge Edmund D. Acoba
Judge Edmund D. Acoba is a district judge who presides in the Family Court of the Fifth
Circuit. Prior to becoming a state judge on May 27, 2011, he was the supervising attorney of the Office of the Public Defender on Kaua`i. Before becoming a public defender in 1989, he worked in the Kaua`i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. A former president of the Kaua`i Bar Association, Judge Acoba earned his law degree from Whittier College of Law in 1987 and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa in 1984.
