Self-Help Centers

Volunteer attorneys and Legal Aid staff provide limited legal information to help self-represented litigants with District and Family Court civil matters related to landlord cases, collection cases, temporary restraining orders, divorces, custody and other matters.

Assistance may be given in the form of providing Court Forms, reviewing Court Documents for interpretation or to ensure that the forms has been completed correctly. Additionally, volunteers try to answer as many procedural questions as possible.

*Free interpreter services for most languages are available at the Self-Help Centers. You should inform court staff if such help is needed. You may also visit the Language Access page for more information.
