Kailua-Kona, HI – The Family Court of the Third Circuit, located at 77-6399 Nalani Street, Kailua-Kona, is closed due to excessive smoke coming into the building from a nearby brush fire.

The Chief Justice issued an order  extending deadlines on the cases that are affected.  All documents due during the court closure will be considered timely if filed by the close of business on Thursday, March 3, 2016.  Hearings or trials cancelled due to the closure shall be rescheduled to the next available date with due regard for any statutory mandates.

Family Court is expected to reopen for business as usual tomorrow, March 3, 2016.  We will provide updates if there are any changes or need to extend the closure.
