Applicants Sought for Bar Examiners Board

Posted on Aug 11, 2011 in Press Releases

The Nominating Committee of the Hawaii Supreme Court is seeking applications from licensed Hawaii attorneys wishing to serve on the Board of Bar Examiners.  The Committee will make recommendations to the Supreme Court, which will make the final selections.

The board members would serve three-year terms beginning November 1, 2011.  Although the positions are not compensated, applicants from the neighbor islands are welcome to apply as travel costs for board members are reimbursed.

The Board examines, recommends and records applicants for admission to the Hawaii State Bar and gives written examinations to test the legal and educational qualifications and knowledge of legal ethics of each applicant.

Interested attorneys should submit a letter with a resume to Gayle J. Lau, Nominating Committee Chair, P.O. Box 26436, Honolulu, HI 96825-6436.  The deadline is September 15, 2011.
