Applicants Sought for Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection Board

The Nominating Committee of the Hawai`i Supreme Court is seeking a non-lawyer community representative to serve as a trustee for a five-year term beginning May 11, 2009. This position is voluntary and uncompensated.

The duties of the trustees of the Lawyers’ Fund are to administer and operate the Fund which reimburses losses caused by dishonest conduct of lawyers. Members must have an affirmative interest in the organization; be willing and able to devote time to perform necessary duties; and be conscientious, thorough and diligent in learning the methods and operations of the organization.

Anyone interested in serving should submit a resume and cover letter indicating their interest to:

The deadline to apply is April 20, 2009. The appointment will be made by the Hawai`i Supreme Court from a list presented by the Nominating Committee.
