Honoring the Late Takeyoshi “Mike” Maeda, Longtime Judiciary Volunteer

Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald issued a Proclamation in honor of the late Takeyoshi “Mike” Maeda, a longtime volunteer with the Volunteers in Public Service to the Courts (VIPS), who passed away on October 22. Mike volunteered with the Supreme Court Bar Examiners Office, Staff Attorney’s Office at Family Court, and the Juvenile Client Services Branch Clerical Unit. He contributed more than 500 volunteer hours each year, which amounted to 12, 215 hours (the equivalent of about 1,527 days), during his 14 years of service.

The Judiciary will truly miss Mike, he was 95 years old. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 16, at the Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu. Inurnment will take place at 1:00 pm on December 7 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.
