On October 16, 2015, Kauai Drug Court staff, with acting Administrator Martin Steinhaus, Probation Officer Jennifer Tone, and Clerk Jaclynn Lee and their clients, along with Deputy Prosecutor Sinclair Salas-Ferguson, and staff and clients from the Women in Need Program (WIN) participated in a community service project at Hanamaulu Beach Park. The volunteers cleaned the beach and the area surrounding the road leading to the park, and repainted the restrooms, shower enclosures and picnic tables. The group of over fifty participants picked up trash, cleaned and painted the park for half a day.

They were treated to lunch provided by the Friends of the Kauai Drug Court, a Kauai United Way Agency. The Drug Court staff would like to thank the WIN clients and volunteers for coming out, and for the lunch and refreshments provided by the Friends of the Kauai Drug Court. The Drug Court staff would also like to acknowledge the County of Kauai, Director Lenny Rapozo and his staff at the Parks and Recreation Department, and Eddie Sarita of the Hoolokahi Program for the supplies and their guidance throughout this project.
