New Child Support Guidelines Effective August 29
Posted on Aug 10, 2010 in Featured NewsNew child support guidelines will take effect on August 29, superseding all prior guidelines and amendments. The amended child support guidelines and interactive worksheets are posted on the Judiciary’s website.
Among other changes, the new guidelines reflect the 2009 Federal Poverty Guidelines for Hawaii and increases the minimum child support from $50 to $70. Also, the 2010 guidelines attempt to better explain and simplify the calculation of child support.
Hawai`i Revised Statues § 576D-7(c) requires the Family Court and the Child Support Enforcement agency to update the child support guidelines every four years.
