Hawaiian-centric public charter school Hālau Kū Mana visited several historic sites on Lā Kūʻokoʻa, Hawaiian Independence Day, Nov. 28. Their field trip included a stop at Aliʻiōlani Hale, where they toured the Judiciary History Center and spent time with Chief Justice Mark Recktentald and Associate Justices Sabrina McKenna and Todd Eddins. 

After the justices made brief opening remarks, there was a short Q&A session. The visit concluded with a heartwarming oli by the students, pictured above. 

In total, about 140 students and staff were able to experience Aliʻiōlani Hale and meet with the justices.
