I am deeply saddened by the passing of Senator Breene Harimoto. He was an outstanding public servant who courageously continued to serve despite his illness, and did so with great distinction. Even while undergoing treatment, he welcomed visitors to his office and always listened thoughtfully to all sides of an issue. He was a strong supporter of an independent judiciary, and successfully advocated for funding to improve our facilities. His passing is a great loss, and I extend the Judiciary’s condolences and aloha to his wife, Cheryl, and their family.
