District Court at the Waimea Civic Center Closed June 26

A pest infestation has caused the closing of the District Court at the Waimea Civic Center today.

Anyone needing assistance with a court-related matter may call 808-961-7440 (Hale Kaulike Courthouse in Hilo) or 808-322-8700 (Keakealani Building in Kona).

As a result of the closure, Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald has ordered that the time for filing items due on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 is extended to Thursday, June 27, 2019. All documents due to have been filed shall be deemed to have been timely filed if they are filed on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

He also ordered that hearings or trials cancelled due to the closure shall be rescheduled to the next available date with due regard for any statutory mandates.
