There was much joy and celebration as family, friends, and colleagues filled the Supreme Court courtroom on April 24 for the swearing-in ceremony of Lisa M. Ginoza as Chief Judge of the Intermediate Court of Appeals, James H. Ashford as Judge of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, and Kevin T. Morikone as Judge of the District Court of the First Circuit.

The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald. Guest speakers were Howard K.K. Luke, President, Hawaii State Bar Association; Judge Brian A. Costa, Treasurer, HSTJA; Dr. Jackie Young, Chair, Judicial Selection Commission; Sen. Ronald D. Kouchi, Senate President; and Gov. David Y. Ige.
