Nakamoto Sworn In as Judge of the Circuit Court of the Third Circuit

Judge Henry T. Nakamoto addresses the court for the first time as Judge of the Circuit Court of the Third Circuit, after being sworn in by Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald. Gov. David Y. Ige (right) was one of the guest speakers at the ceremony. Third Circuit judges also attended, including Judge Darien Ching Nagata (left).
Judge Henry T. Nakamoto was sworn in as Judge of the Circuit Court of the Third Circuit (Hawaii Island) at a special ceremony on October 30, 2017, at Hale Kaulike, the Judiciary Complex in Hilo.
The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald. Guest speakers were: Hawaii Gov. David Y. Ige, Rep. Mark M. Nakashima, Hawaii State House of Representatives, Nadine Y. Ando, Hawaii State Bar Association President; Michael H. Schlueter, West Hawaii Bar Association President; Jeffrey W. Ng, Hawaii County Bar Association President; Judge Melvin H. Fujino, Hawaii State Trial Judges Association Vice President; and Mike Middlesworth, Judicial Selection Commission.
Judge Nakamoto will serve a 10-year term.
