NOTICE OF PETITION FOR RETENTIONS HONORABLE BERT I. AYABE
The Judicial Selection Commission announces that the term of the Honorable Bert I. Ayabe as Circuit Judge, Circuit Court of the First Circuit (island of Oʻahu), State of Hawaii, will expire on June 9, 2014.
In accordance with article VI, section 3 of the Constitution of the State of Hawaii, Judge Ayabe petitioned the Commission to be retained in judicial office and to be renewed for an additional term. The Constitution of the State of Hawaii empowers the Commission to determine whether Judge Ayabe should be retained in judicial office for an additional term of ten years.
The Commission invites interested persons to submit written comments and/or fill out an evaluation form on whether Judge Ayabe should be retained in judicial office for a new term. All written comments and evaluations will be kept CONFIDENTIAL.
Please visit the Commission’s website and fill out form JS-P-081, the Judicial Evaluation Retention Form. Written comments and/or form JS-P-081 must be postmarked or faxed by Wednesday, February 19, 2014 to:
