Oʻahu State Courts and Judiciary Operations to Close Tuesday Due to Hurricane Lowell
Posted on Sep 7, 2026 in News & Reports, Press ReleasesThe Hawaiʻi State Judiciary announces that state courts and Judiciary operations on Oʻahu will be closed on Tuesday, September 8, due to Hurricane Lowell. The closure is in addition to the previously announced closure of the courthouse and Judiciary operations on Kauaʻi.
State courts and Judiciary operations on Maui, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, and Hawaiʻi Island will remain open.
All hearings and trials scheduled for Tuesday on Oʻahu and Kauaʻi will be rescheduled. In addition, Chief Justice Vladimir P. Devens will issue court orders to be posted here on the Judiciary website extending the deadline for filing documents due Tuesday on Oʻahu and Kauaʻi until Wednesday, September 9.

As always, parties may also monitor the state’s online public case information system, eCourt Kokua, for the most current information regarding hearings, trials, and case activity.
