Courts and Judiciary facilities in the Third Circuit (Hawaiʻi Island) will remain closed Tuesday, August 18, while all other courts and Judiciary facilities statewide will reopen following Monday’s statewide closure in the wake of Hurricane Lala.

All hearings and trials scheduled for Tuesday on Hawaiʻi Island will be rescheduled. In addition, by court order, the deadline for all court filings due Tuesday, August 18, on Hawaiʻi Island will be extended until Wednesday, August 19.

Judiciary operations in the First (Oʻahu), Second (Maui County), and Fifth (Kauaʻi) Circuits will resume as scheduled Tuesday.

The public is encouraged to visit the Hawaiʻi State Judiciary website for updates and information regarding court operations, including the status of Third Circuit facilities.

As always, parties may also monitor the state’s online public case information system, eCourt Kokua, for the most current information regarding hearings, trials, and case activity.
