First Circuit Court Building Closed Due to Water Main Break
Posted on Feb 29, 2016 in Press ReleasesHonolulu, HI – The First Circuit Court building, Kaahumanu Hale, 777 Punchbowl Street, is closed (as of about 1:00 p.m. today, February 29, 2016) due to a water main break. Water has been shut off to the building and repairs are underway.
The Chief Justice issued an order extending deadlines on the cases that are affected. All documents due during the court closure will be considered timely if filed by the close of business on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Hearings or trials cancelled due to the closure shall be rescheduled to the next available date with due regard for any statutory mandates.
Kaahumanu Hale is expected to reopen for business as usual tomorrow, March 1, 2016. We will provide updates if there are any changes or need to extend the closure.
