Email Scam Alert

Posted on Feb 4, 2014 in Press Releases

The Hawaii State Judiciary has received multiple reports of an email scam, in which emails purporting to come from the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals are being sent to individuals worldwide. The email refers to a pretrial notice, stating that a complaint has been received and a court date has been set. The email then instructs the individual to click on a link to confirm details of the trial. Please do not click on the link or respond to this email scam. In general, the public will not be contacted by the Hawaii State Judiciary for official business by email and we do not summon people to court electronically.

If you receive an email you are not sure about, please contact the Hawaii State Judiciary Public Affairs Office at pao@courts.hawaii.gov or call (808) 539-4909.

For more information, contact the Communications and Community Relations Office at 808-539-4909 or via email at pao@courts.hawaii.gov.
