Honolulu District Court Closed on January 2, 2013

Posted on Jan 2, 2013 in Press Releases

Kauikeaouli Hale, the District Court courthouse at 1111 Alakea Street, will be closed to the public for the remainder of the day (January 2, 2013) due to an electrical problem that has affected elevator and escalator service, and water service above the 4th floor.

Court hearings scheduled for today have been cancelled. They will be rescheduled for a later date.

Court officials anticipate the building will be open to the public tomorrow morning.

As a result of the outage, the Hawaii Supreme Court has issued an order extending — by one day — any Honolulu district court matter with a filing or hearing due date of January 2.
