Kona Judiciary Complex Site Selection Meeting on September 20

Posted on Sep 12, 2011 in Press Releases

A public information meeting will be held on September 20, 2011 at the West Hawaii Civic Center Community Meeting Hale in Kailua-Kona to discuss the Candidate Sites and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Kona Judiciary Complex.

The meeting is being held during the 45-day comment period for the Draft EIS (deadline October 6, 2011). Input received at this meeting will provide information for the Final EIS and the Judiciary site selection process. Please limit oral comments at the public meeting to 3-5 minutes. Written comments of any length may be submitted any time during the 45-day Draft EIS comment period to KonaJudiciary@group70int.com.

The Kona Judiciary Complex Site Selection is being jointly undertaken by the Hawaii State Judiciary and the Department of Accounting and General Services to address a long-standing need for a new complex in the West Hawaii service area. The Kona Judiciary Complex Site Selection Draft EIS has identified seven Candidate Sites in the Kailua-Kona area (see map.)  The Kona Judiciary Complex Site Selection Draft EIS was published in the OEQC Environmental Notice on August 23, 2011 and is available for review online.
