’The Judiciary, State of Hawaii, today announced the selection of Marie C. Laderta as the new Chief Adjudicator of the Administrative Driver’s License Revocation Office (ADLRO) effective January 11, 2011.

“Ms. Laderta is well qualified to assume this very important position, having been in public service for the past 12 years, both as an attorney for the State as well as an administrator in various State Departments. She most recently served as the Director of the Department of Human Resources Development, the State’s Chief Negotiator, and as Acting Administrator of the Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund.  The combination of Ms. Laderta’s legal experience coupled with her strong public administration skills make her the ideal candidate for the position of Chief Adjudicator at ADLRO,” Rod Maile, Administrative Director of the Courts said.

Ms. Laderta graduated from Chicago’s John Marshall School of Law in 1988 and was admitted to the Hawaii Bar in 1996.  She was an Associate with a private personal injury law firm in Honolulu prior to entering public service as a Deputy Attorney General, followed by her position as Deputy Director of the State Department of Taxation.

The ADLRO conducts reviews and requested hearings related to the revocation of driving privileges of persons found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of intoxicants.  The Chief Adjudicator is responsible for the operation of this office including supervision of its employees.  Other responsibilities include public relations and public information duties regarding administrative revocation.
