Appellate eFiling Launches on September 27
Posted on Sep 23, 2010 in Featured NewsOn Monday, September 27, 2010, the Hawaii Supreme Court Clerk’s Office will implement the appellate portion of the Judiciary Information Management System and attorneys will be able to file documents electronically through the Judiciary Electronic Filing System (JEFS). JEFS will be available nearly 24 hour per day, including weekends, furlough days, and holidays (the system is down for maintenance during a short period sometime between midnight and 4:00 a.m.).
Under rules adopted by the Hawaii Supreme Court, attorneys will be required to file documents electronically unless excused by the court. During the initial phase of the implementation the Clerk will continue to accept paper documents so that attorneys and attorney staff can be sufficiently trained. More than 600 attorneys and attorney support staff were trained in the last six weeks.
A special help line (539-4789) will be available beginning Monday, September 27, 2010. Questions may be sent anytime to scco@courts.state.hi.us. Additional information, including FAQs and training materials will be available on the Judiciary website at www.courts.state.hi.us beginning Monday, September 27, 2010.
