Review and Evaluation
Once the formal disciplinary proceedings have begun, hearings on the complaint are scheduled. During these hearings, witnesses may be called and a full record is kept of the proceedings. After the formal hearings, a report is prepared for the Disciplinary Board’s review and decision.
In some cases, the board can recommend that a lawyer be disbarred or suspended, however, such discipline can only be imposed by the Supreme Court. In cases such as these, action is only taken after the Supreme Court independently reviews the documents.
