Associate Judge Keith K. Hiraoka

Keith K. Hiraoka has been an associate judge on the Intermediate Court of Appeals since November 19, 2018. He was a state circuit court judge from April 7, 2017, until he was sworn in to the court of appeals.

Judge Hiraoka began practicing law in Hawaiʻi in 1983. Immediately before his appointment to the bench he was the managing partner of the law firm formerly known as Roeca Luria Hiraoka LLP. His primary practice areas were legal malpractice defense and insurance coverage counseling and litigation. He was formerly chair of the HSBA Insurance Coverage Litigation Section and a co-chair of the HSBA Professional Responsibility and Risk Management Committee.

Judge Hiraoka graduated from Pearl City High School and the University of Hawaiʻi, Mānoa. He received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He has lectured at the University of Hawaiʻi William S. Richardson School of Law in civil procedure, evidence, pretrial practice, and legal methods.
