The Hawai`i State Judiciary's Web site provides access to a variety of information, including case information, court forms, and job openings, as well as links to legal services and resources, as a public service.

We understand that personal privacy on the Internet is important to you. You may be concerned whether data is being collected about you as you access our Web site. This Privacy Statement explains the type of information that is collected through the Web site and how it may be used.

Information Routinely Collected and Stored

The Judiciary collects data during Internet browsing sessions. For each visitor to our Web site, our Web server automatically gathers and stores certain non-personally identifiable information. The type of information that is collected and stored includes:

1. Your Internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address. The IP address is a numerical identifier assigned either to your Internet service provider or directly to your computer.

The Judiciary collects personal information, such as an individual's name, address, and telephone number, only when you voluntarily provide it to us by: (1) filling out a form (e.g., job application, mailing list subscription, feedback form) and submitting it to us; (2) sending us an email message that contains personal information; or (3) using an Internet service (e.g. online payments) that requires you to submit personal information. Our web server does not collect personal information that you enter on court forms downloaded from the Judiciary Web site.

We may use personal information to respond to your request or message, or to provide a service. We do not create individual profiles with personal information you provide. We do not give personal information to any third parties unless required by law, such as in response to a court order, or to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities.

This Web site is provided as a service to the public for the purpose of viewing and retrieving information, and to enable users to do business with the Judiciary. Any unauthorized attempt to change or otherwise tamper with the information contained on this Web site is strictly prohibited and may be subject to prosecution under state and federal law.

Links to other Web sites are provided as a convenience to our users. When you leave this site for another Web site, this Privacy Statement no longer applies and you will be subject to the privacy policy of the external site. Furthermore, the Judiciary does not warrant the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of the information provided by these external sites.

Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we do not warrant that the system is fail proof.
