Indigent Surcharge Filing Fee Increase Effective January 1
Effective January 1, 2012, pursuant to Act 180, S.B. No. 1073, SD2, HD2, CD1, Relating to Surcharge for Indigent Legal Services, initial filing fees for certain District, Family, Circuit and Appellate Court cases will increase to reflect additional surcharge amounts for Indigent Legal Services. The surcharges will be deposited in the Indigent Legal Assistance Fund, which provides funding to organizations that work to increase access to justice in Hawai'i.
