Congratulations to Robert D.S. Kim, who was sworn in on November 21,2017 by Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald to serve as Judge of the Circuit Court of the Third Circuit (Kona). Judge Kim will fill the position vacated when Judge Ronald Ibarra retired in June. He will serve a 10-year term.

Prior to his appointment, Judge Kim was in private practice concentrating in criminal defense, family law, civil litigation, personal injury, and other administrative proceedings.

He graduated from the University of Hawaii-Hilo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
