Judge Melvin H. Fujino

Judge Melvin H. Fujino was appointed by Governor David Ige on December 18, 2015 to serve as a Third Circuit Court Judge.

Judge Fujino was first appointed by Chief Justice Ronald Moon as Judge of the District Family Court of the Third Circuit for the North/South Kohala and Hamakua Districts on December 19, 2008.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, he served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Hawaii and he was assigned to the Criminal Justice Division. He served as a team leader and supervisor for the Asset Forfeiture and Wire Tap Review Units.

Before joining the Department of the Attorney General for the State of Hawaii, he served for 15 years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. He was a supervisor and community-oriented prosecutor for the West Hawaii branch of the Hawai`i County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
