Leslie A. Hayashi has been a district court judge since her initial appointment on Nov. 5, 1990.
Previously, she was a partner at Rush, Moore, Craven, Kim & Stricklin handling civil litigation including complex litigation and commercial disputes.
She was the Executive Director of Hawai`i Lawyers Care and a staff attorney with the American Judicature Society.
Judge Hayashi received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. In 2003, she received the Franklin N. Flaschner Award from the American Bar Association. In 2005 she received the Outstanding Leadership for Diversity in the Legal Profession award from the Hawaii State Bar Association. She has also been a faculty member of The National Judicial College since 1995.
