Daniel R. Foley has been an Associate Judge at the Intermediate Court of Appeals, State of Hawai`i, since October 2000. He received his B.A. in 1969 and his J.D. in 1974 from the University of San Francisco. Prior to his appointment as a judge, he was a partner for eleven years in the law firm of Partington & Foley where he handled federal and state civil rights cases. He also was an Adjunct Professor of Civil Rights at the William S. Richardson School of Law. From 1984 to 1987 Judge Foley was legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawai`i, and from 1975 to 1983 he was counsel to various Micronesian governmental bodies, constitutional conventions, and organizations.
